isr.co.ro : glossary Anonymous Remailer An Internet server (host computer) that strips the identifying information off e-mail messages and then forwards them to the requested designation. Some remailers also provide a two-way service using keycodes or aliases. Remailers are used both for legitimate purposes (such as posting pseudonymous messages to self-help and medical newsgroups) and for more nefarious activities such as software piracy. They're also a staple tool for patrons of sex-oriented newsgroups and mailing lists.
