A setting on a newsreader (program for reading Usenet newsgroups) or e-mail program that skips messages from a list of people you'd rather not bother with.
Most programs actually call this function a "kill file" or "kill filter," although the message is actually ignored rather than deleted. Depending on the program, you may be able to filter by sender, organization, message topic, or date range.
