isr.co.ro : glossary cc (carbon copy/courtesy copy) A copy of an electronic mail message sent to an additional recipient that is included on the list of recipients seen by the primary addressees. Because most e-mail systems allow multiple primary addressees as well as address lists, the choice of whether to include a recipient in the main address, in a courtesy copy or in a blind courtesy copy, that is, a copy not included in the list seen by primary recipients, is more of a social or political choice than a technical one. As with paper messaging, the cc version of the name is remarkably resistant to change even though many message originators haven't ever seen a full-size sheet of carbon paper.
