Dynamic
  1. In general, processes that change over time.



  2. As applied to Internet connections, ones that are assigned any free address from the pool of values available at the time of connection rather than a fixed address each time. Dynamic addressing lets a larger group of users share a smaller set of addresses, because all users are not likely to be online at one time.

    Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) offer dynamic addressing as their default for dialup connections and charge extra if you want the exclusive use of a fixed IP (Internet Protocol) address.
