isr.co.ro : glossary Image File When speaking about the World Wide Web, a file containing a single image that's sent out to your computer by the server (host computer) as part of a Web page. Putting the graphics in separate files, rather then including them directly in the Web page as "inline" graphics, makes it easier to make changes in individual images without completely reworking pages. It also breaks down large projects into more manageable chunks and lets you choose whether to view the graphics or turn off graphics loading for faster page display.
