| isr.co.ro : glossary - Mail Reflector
- A network program that sends out messages and documents in response to requests received by e-mail. Before the arrival of the World Wide Web, this was one of the more popular ways to supply information over the Internet, and it's still the way the many Web sites handle requests for further details.
Mail reflectors have been implemented as separate programs, but most are built into more comprehensive mail programs, such as "listservs" or "mailbots."
- For Usenet newsgroups with content also circulated as a mailing list, a program that handles the duplication of the messages from list to group and vice versa. In this context, more commonly called a "bidirectional mail gateway."
