Mailto links are often used to allow visitors to your site to send you feedback, to report errors, to participate in surveys, or for simple transactions. However, because you can specify any Internet mail address as the destination, they can also be used to encourage site visitors to contact a third party, as in grassroots lobbying of politicians.
